Memory Boxes

Here's the latest in my artistic forays. These are Memory Boxes. They are gifts from artists to parents who lose babies in hospital. This sadly necessary charity was formed in USA but now has artists from all over the globe contributing to their local communities in the best way that they know how. Through their art. If you would like to read more about this labour of love visit the website: www.teraleigh.com/memoryboxes/

Myself and friends get together on the first Sunday of each month and eat, paint, drink (coffee / tea) and sort out the worlds problems for the memory box program. When we leave our hostesses house we aim to leave as many completed boxes for donation to our local hospitals as possible. I decided to get a little ahead and completed these three. Hope you like them... ...

This lovely Platypus is a design from the book Australian Animals by Kate Broadfoot. I like to use memory boxes to practise new patterns on. This one worked out well and will be so much easier to paint the second time around.

These two mates are from the Australian design Book of Whimsy. Such adorable friends to watch over such precious memories.
