Welcome Bubbles the Fish. She is the last of the fabric covered canvas block trio painted for Sandra's girls. I love her lips and her Brilliant Magenta background. It's hard to see it here but her green scales have opal dust on them to really capture the colours of the rainbow. She was inspired by the childrens book - The Rainbow Fish. A favourite of my own children.
This 40cm x 50cm tissue covered canvas block is for Jackson's bedroom wall. It is commissioned by the recipient and how could any mother / artist resist a commission from her only son. : )
It is a watercolour technique painted using Matisse flow acrylics from a Sue Raccanello design. I painted this restful piece in just an evening. While Pablo concentrated on the State of Origin (Rugby League) I cranked up the air conditioning to 30 degrees celcius to ensure the paint dried fast and finished with this. Jack and I are very happy with it.
